Sci-Fi Romances are the hot new thing! Why not be ahead of the curve and check out Stardusted.

Did you like and/or watch the OG Roswell TV show? If the answer is yes, and even no, then this book gives those vibes. It is a slow damn burn, but also like the tv show it moves a bit slow.

We’re following Rae on her adventure so everything is told not on in the first-person, but also in first-person monologues? She thinks a lot and we are privy to it.

There is lots of descriptive language. It almost felt like a script or like we were able to watch it all unfold in our minds. We appreciate this type of descriptive language because it builds the setting really nicely.

Anyways, Rae is a college student who works at a diner ( see, similar to Roswell) and she’s also super in-love with the bartender from her restaurant. Don’t worry, she does eventually see him shirtless *wink*

Since this is a sci-fi romance you’re probably wondering if there is spice. Unfortunately, there is not. There is kissing, but that’s as spicy as we get in this book. We’re hoping book two gives us a little butt or something.

Obviously, eventually Rae finds out the truth, that aliens exist, and we won’t tell you how she finds out. You’ll need to read the book to find out, but we will tell you that there are two alien species. Now you’re intrigued.

One of the aliens is a bad alien and of course the other is on the side of the humans trying to stop the bad aliens. Again, you’ll need to read the book to find out why, but it’s super interesting, and somehow Rae is involved in like a not a good way?

Book one ends on a happily for now ending with them on the road heading to Florida for some help. Let’s hope life on the road proves eventual for us *wink*

Go read it before book two comes out and be ahead of the curve and start reading Sci-Fi Romances

You cry once and then you rage really well once and maybe are frustrated a few times in between. After reading the world and the characters stay with you

Human Nature is. beautifully crafted world that will leave you wanting more. There is some reminiscence of Hugh Howey’s Silo series with the existence of “bunker” people and a hierarchy structure or class division existing within the bunker. There’s potentially secrets within this upper class, but one thing is obvious, they dislike those below them in the hierarchy system.

There is a thread of young love ( 19 year olds) which propels the story making this a scifi-romance or a dystopiance….a dystopian romance. There are a few open-door scenes however, they are of the beginner spice scenes. Your grandma could read it and be fine. If the spice was gone it would be a strong YA story .

There is life above ground with humans and creatures. Almost as if life continuous to find a way even after disaster.

Bonnibelle Angelica is a new and up and coming scifi author. This is their first novel and it’s worth giving a try. Especially if you like world building, science, and disability representation

Book 2 of the Murderbot Diaries is also entertaining because we get a whole lot of what Murderbot is thinking, feeling, and doing.

The action is different, no weird monsters. Just more SecUnits…the not good kinds like Murderbot.

This is Murderbots big adventure on his own. Our baby boy is all grown up and left the nest. LOLs

We do get a robot friend named STAR. I like her, oh yeah, I made it a her. STAR just gave those vibes, plus in the graphic audio they have a feminine voice.

Also, our boy, Murderbot, gets a makeover and I am not sure how I feel about it.

There might be decapitation, but could also be book 3. Whose to say.

We get clues and are closer to uncovering the truth.

Book 1 of the Murderbot Diaries is very entertaining and felt fast paced to me because of all the action. It’s now a comfort book.

Graphic Audio was best and I only listen to this version *Swoon*

Oh, and this book series (Books 1 – 4) are very short reads. About 2 – 3 hours of listening.

Sometimes I feel like Murderbot. Humans are weird and kind of annoying, but I guess like him, I should also learn to adapt.

Some similarities to the television series, but also different. In the book we are left with the cliffhanger of who is GrayCris and what do they want? Not sure about the tv show.
