    You will fall in love with the world of Lydia and Wold. Especially Wold, the guardian * heart eyes*

    When you think of mushrooms and glowing things we hope, like us, you think of Wold 🙂

    Wolds job is to protect the land from humans, but obviously fails when Lydia stumbles onto his land. He does show her what he does to humans *wink* JK only to her

    It has the makings of a monster romantasy, but doesn’t go deeper into the magic systems or the politics of the world and fae. Oh yeah, there are fae in this story and they’re the bad guys. We kind of like that.

    The spice is immediate so if you don’t like that then why are you reading monster romances? Go get therapy Cheryl and leave our monsters alone! He has a special eggplant, another reason why Cheryl needs to leave.

    The descriptive language of the world will leave you feeling as if you are part of their world or that you want to be part of it. We assume we live there now.

    There is even a bonus story, Knot Without My Mate

    Knot without my Mate a bonus story in Mushy Stuff by Lyra Lorne

    Which follows the story of two side characters from Mushy Stuff who we meet in the fae castle. Their story is a bit darker and centers around the theme of survivor and the trauma associated with being a sexual assault survivor.

    The bonus story does add to the main story line of Mushy Stuff as we see their lives intermingle in Knot without my Mate.

    Ghostlight Falls is a small town, but there’s some drama in this story. Two men fight for one woman, well….towards the end they do.

    Alice, the chicken becomes your new bestfriend.

    You’ll also learn to confront your past and rebuild those wounds into a new bright future with your chicken mate…boyfriend…lover…chicken-man

    There is a special eggplant so you’ll need to read to find out what kind, but don’t worry it’s not too graphic. More on the beginner spice side. Suitable for your grandma who hasn’t seen a special eggplant

    The FMC is a witch and a very pent-up, frustrated type of witch. You know where I am going.

    Creature just reminds her what it means to let go and stress less. He also shows her the power she has inside of her.

    You know, like a true gentleman does.

    Also, Creature may or may not have a leaf eggplant along with his not leaf eggplant. Whose to say. I guess you gotta read it.

    This is my first mermaid or rather merman story and boy do we need more of them. I wonder if all mermen stories have companion animals as well?

    This is a STEM heavy story with a 30+ FMC who is searching for her merman, though she doesn’t know that’s what she’s doing. The search takes place in Canada.

    She must choose between the land life or the sea. I can’t tell you which one, you’ll have to read it to find out.

    Interesting underwater breathing system that is both scientifically inaccurate (obviously) and also makes sense for the story.

    The author has stated this was inspired by Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians and so the smut be smutting.

    We’ve been calling it the “smutty pagemaster” story. Obviously the MMC is a book so you can see where we were going there. However, it turns out the spine is not where the face is and has other purposes * wink*

    The story centers on a teacher in Ghostlight Falls and the school there. We learn there is a ghost receptionist at the school, which makes sense.

    There are also a lot of puns and 90’s references and you’ll need to read the story to find out why.

    We learned there may be other uses for ribbon books marks and that you can in fact fly on a book.

    There is a mystery that needs to be solved and it kind of is. We obviously need there to be a book two to answer some of the other question that arise.

    This a cozy romance story set in the new town of Blackthorn Valley a town for Witches and Monsters, but not Trolls or Orcs.

    The founding members of Blackthorn Valley give off Charmed or Witches of EastWick vibes. Each member has a different power and is a different type of monster with the exception of one human. Shhhhhhhh!

    They accidentally call a shifter, a Werewolf named Guy to their new town. He not only brings his whole pack, but he also finds his mate there.

    There is some eggplanting, but it’s more along the lines of romantisy smut and happens towards the endish of the book.

    There is a small battle, but it’s more of a coupke fires and a few fights with Trolls and Orcs. Nothing these witches and werewolfs can’t handle.

    There is one Gargoyle who eventually works security for the town and there’s even a ghost who came with the town. There’s something shifty going on with the Library, but we’re not sure what yet.

    Sheety Stationary the store, really stole my breath away ❤ it’s a store that is alive. I love when it just gets up and walks around. Oh Sheety *swoon*

    This is an alien romance...well, it’s a thruple romance. There is breeding and there is eventually going to be a child. It’s part of the breeding.

    However, I learned these are different aliens from The Close Encounter of the Ghostlight Falls kind. These ones drove into town as opposed to crash landing into town.

    Tillie is the FMC and she is a hot mess. Her life has just kind of blown up on her and she could really use some help. So glad she found her well dressed and put together aliens to help her.

    We again get to meet new people of Ghostlight Falls and we get to see Mappy who seems like a nice guy who flirts with everyone and does pushups on the steps of the visitor center. Seems fine.

    There’s also fighting with a goatman who is also the fire department so not sure if they’ll get saved in the future.
