Sci-Fi Romances are the hot new thing! Why not be ahead of the curve and check out Stardusted.

Did you like and/or watch the OG Roswell TV show? If the answer is yes, and even no, then this book gives those vibes. It is a slow damn burn, but also like the tv show it moves a bit slow.

We’re following Rae on her adventure so everything is told not on in the first-person, but also in first-person monologues? She thinks a lot and we are privy to it.

There is lots of descriptive language. It almost felt like a script or like we were able to watch it all unfold in our minds. We appreciate this type of descriptive language because it builds the setting really nicely.

Anyways, Rae is a college student who works at a diner ( see, similar to Roswell) and she’s also super in-love with the bartender from her restaurant. Don’t worry, she does eventually see him shirtless *wink*

Since this is a sci-fi romance you’re probably wondering if there is spice. Unfortunately, there is not. There is kissing, but that’s as spicy as we get in this book. We’re hoping book two gives us a little butt or something.

Obviously, eventually Rae finds out the truth, that aliens exist, and we won’t tell you how she finds out. You’ll need to read the book to find out, but we will tell you that there are two alien species. Now you’re intrigued.

One of the aliens is a bad alien and of course the other is on the side of the humans trying to stop the bad aliens. Again, you’ll need to read the book to find out why, but it’s super interesting, and somehow Rae is involved in like a not a good way?

Book one ends on a happily for now ending with them on the road heading to Florida for some help. Let’s hope life on the road proves eventual for us *wink*

Go read it before book two comes out and be ahead of the curve and start reading Sci-Fi Romances

This is a queer urban fantasy with two MMC’s.

There is also Trans Masc. visibility as well as anxiety, PTSD, CPTSD, and other mental health visibility. There is also bullying and parental rejection.

There is no spice, with the exception of kissing.

The story has so much potential. The world of Thylsnean, which I hope we get more of in book 2, is a magical place. The plant life, animal life, and other humanoid and non-humanoid beings are fantastic. I do hope we get more of them in book 2. They are described to the reader with some descriptive language.

The two main characters also have potential to have a strong relationship and for us, the reader, to feel connected to them. However, there is a lack of show and a lot of telling, therefore, as a reader we didn’t feel connected to thee characters. We also didn’t see any growth of who they are as individuals. We also didn’t understand their motives and reasoning.

There are villains, who are Ialtag, which is the winged beings of Thylsnean who may be part human, or at least share some human DNA. One of the MMC’s Caliel is an Ialtag and has portaled to earth to learn about Humans.

These villains want to humans to be extinct because they believe they, the Ialtag, are the superior species/beings. We are told this, not shown it through their actions or anything else. The only thing we are shown is when the villains capture Gabe, the human MMC, and torture him to get Caliel to agree with them and be their leader.

Spoiler, it doesn’t work and the two MMC’s escape.

There is more to the story, but you’ll need to read it to see the cliffhanger.

Perhaps we are snobs, but we need a fantasy story to give us a lot of description, and showing of character actions, setting, story, for us to feel connected to the world and characters.

If you are easy and don’t mind being told what characters are doing next then this is a great queer urban fantasy for you.

    *SPOILER FREE*

Where are the ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, and When the Moon Hatched girlies?

If you LOVE slow burn romantasy stories then you will absolutely love Awakening of the Starbone.

If you need a new shadow daddy (Sølas, the MMC) to thirst over this story has one and he is damn hot. He totally falls first, which we love. He’s also bonded to a dragon *drool*

Savaé, the FMC, is quite the bad ass. She can kill anyone and any beast. She’s had a rough life and doesn’t know her full potential or how to not be a lone wolf. Obviously, in the book she’s working through her shit and learning to love and rely on others.

Sully is a side character that you will come to love. He becomes a strong male figure for Savaé and trains her to be the bad ass warrior she is. You will fall in love with him.

There is a war college that our FMC and MMC both attend, however, in order to attend you must try out in small trials through out the lands. of course both pass. Duh!

There are also units that students in this war college are sorted into. Of course, Savaé is put in the position she hoped for because she’s badass so of course she would be. This satiates your longing for the Fourth Wing days.

In these units each person as a role and Savaé happens to be part of the unit that gets to be bonded to a flying beast. There are several types of beasts one can bond other than dragons. You’ll have to read the story to see what she bonds *wink*

There are bad forces in this world, which is why they have this war college. They’re training them to fight this darkness that is taking over the lands.

This not a HEA story, but rather a rip your heart out cliff hanger. In fact, your heart will be ripped out several times in this story. There is also a female villian and I am not sure what to think of her. I think I hate her.

Savaé and Sølas are fated mates, but there’s something interesting about it that drives the story. Hence, romantasy.

The story is also beautifully written. This is a high romantasy story and the descriptions of all the creatures, fae, continent, war, college and anything else is so rich in color and descriptive language you will feel like you are part of their unit and world.

You will be devistated and in love reading this story. You will be craving book 2. Go pre-order now so you can read it December 8th when it comes out

Attempted Murder & Other Ways To Seduce Your Mate by Emma Eden Book 2 of The Cake Chaos Chronicles

This is book 2 of The Cake Chaos Chronicles

This story focuses on Maggie the FMC and Noth the MMC. Maggie is a witch and Noth is an Elvin-Nightmare shifter.

The story follows their love, like literally is all about Maggie trying to kill Noth, but then as fate would have it…fated mates.

of course there’s fae politics, it wouldn’t be a romantasy without that. Noth has to defend his crown because some loser named like Steve or Brian or Brent * eye roll* tried to over throw Noth.

For Maggie it’s more a story about grief and forgiveness. Like this girl needs some serious therapy, but is managing to work her way through all that shit.

Though the themes are heavy the story is actually very funny, light, and very very spicy. Like, Noth is a pierced and a well packing dude. It’s like high level spice for a romantasy and happens a lot. Honestly, we could’ve done with more it just fits their characters so well.

Go dive into this series and don’t start with book 2 like we did. Out October 24th go pre-order it now

“All the good girls bite so remember to chew”

Hurry and listen to this book like we did. It has wonderful quotes, like the one above, and will also have you giggling and rooting for the bad guys to lose.

This is a sapphic story (F/F) with beginner level spice. If you’re new to sapphic stories or new to having smut in your stories this is a great introduction to both.

However, if you’re a seasoned smut reader this is just a regular book for you. You’ll enjoy the characters and the story *giggle*

The story takes inspiration from Little Shop pf Horrors, but is not the story we know. It’s its own story with heart, humor, and light murder.

Quickly without giving away too much, it’s about a witch who has a shop and maybe magicked a little too much a Venus Fly Trap. Then there’s another FMC who is well connected politically and maybe a little on the wealthy side, but hates her life and his miserable. Her family hates her.

The two of them figure out their love for each other, figure out themselves, do a light murder, and ride off into the sunset together.

Go listen to it like we did because the voice actors are fantastic!

This was a book suitable for both Groan and Barnibus which means you can read it too. No excuses!

Yeah yeah, Groan is a smut hoe and will always tell you MORE SMUT that’s just who he is. This story has beginner level spice. Still open door, just like Hallmark movie type if they have spice in those movies. We don’t know.

For our (ro)fantasy and scifi loving lyndworm it was the cutest most coziest monster romance he’d ever read.

We don’t really know what Hallmark is, but it gives Hallmark movie vibes.

There’s a witch and her other monster friends who give like 90’s girl coven vibes who have this dream of building a monster town. How cute, right?!

Well, somehow (you’ll have to read the book) a werewolf comes along who falls fast and hard for this witch girl. Might be fated mates, I guess you have to read.

Anyways, it’s about them falling for each other and building this town while also fighting bad guys. No big deal.

    See cute and cozy!

The town of Blackthorn Valley is also very cute and we’d like to live there some day too

You cry once and then you rage really well once and maybe are frustrated a few times in between. After reading the world and the characters stay with you

Human Nature is. beautifully crafted world that will leave you wanting more. There is some reminiscence of Hugh Howey’s Silo series with the existence of “bunker” people and a hierarchy structure or class division existing within the bunker. There’s potentially secrets within this upper class, but one thing is obvious, they dislike those below them in the hierarchy system.

There is a thread of young love ( 19 year olds) which propels the story making this a scifi-romance or a dystopiance….a dystopian romance. There are a few open-door scenes however, they are of the beginner spice scenes. Your grandma could read it and be fine. If the spice was gone it would be a strong YA story .

There is life above ground with humans and creatures. Almost as if life continuous to find a way even after disaster.

Bonnibelle Angelica is a new and up and coming scifi author. This is their first novel and it’s worth giving a try. Especially if you like world building, science, and disability representation

This a cozy romance story set in the new town of Blackthorn Valley a town for Witches and Monsters, but not Trolls or Orcs.

The founding members of Blackthorn Valley give off Charmed or Witches of EastWick vibes. Each member has a different power and is a different type of monster with the exception of one human. Shhhhhhhh!

They accidentally call a shifter, a Werewolf named Guy to their new town. He not only brings his whole pack, but he also finds his mate there.

There is some eggplanting, but it’s more along the lines of romantisy smut and happens towards the endish of the book.

There is a small battle, but it’s more of a coupke fires and a few fights with Trolls and Orcs. Nothing these witches and werewolfs can’t handle.

There is one Gargoyle who eventually works security for the town and there’s even a ghost who came with the town. There’s something shifty going on with the Library, but we’re not sure what yet.

Guess we need to see what happens in book two
